News Apps on Apps on Apps

As a college student, time management is everything; and finding time to do what you want amidst all of the time spent doing what needs to be done is practically impossible.

For me, finding enough time to keep updated on what is happening in the world is a hassle. Searching through news websites, music blogs and newspapers can take up a great deal of time that I do not have. However, I can always count on a few methods to keep me in the know when it comes to news and entertainment.

When I'm looking for the news, the one method I can count on to deliver it whenever I need it is the Apple News App that comes with my iPhone 6s. What I like most about this app is that it delivers the top stories of the day from multiple news sources. That means I have access to articles from Associated Press, CNN and ESPN all in one spot, I don't have to go from app to app or website to website to search for the content I want to read. It being o my phone provides even more of an advantage because I'll always have the opportunity to whip out my phone and read a news article in between classes or while waiting in line to get food from the dining halls. As long as I have an internet connection, I'll always have the latest in daily news.

Another method I have for getting news and information is just searching through music blogs. Usually, I have all my go-to blogs - ranging from the hip-hop centric 2DopeBoyz to the more diverse Earmilk - bookmarked, so it's nothing to just click on the link and go. I like getting my news from these sources because most of the time the articles aren't about fluff and gossip. The typical music blog post is a quick blurb about either an event, a song or an album and is followed by a link to the music or an embedded player. Occasionally you'll get the interesting think pieces but again, there isn't much fluff there.
